COVID-19 claims 19 more lives in Manipur taking death toll to 944

Manipur maintained below 10 per cent daily positivity rate for the last couple of days as the state reported 687 new COVID-19 cases at 8.79 per cent.

In the last 24 hours ending 5 pm Friday, the State Level Covid 19 Deaths Audit Committee reported 19 Covid 19 deaths taking the death toll to 944. Seven persons from Imphal West, three each from Imphal East, Thoubal and Churachandpur, and one each from Bishnupur, Kakching and Ukhrul died at — RIMS (3), JNIMS (3), Babina (1), Shija Hospital (5), Raj Medicity (2), DH Ukhrul (1), DH Bishnupur (1), and DH Churachandpur (3).

On Friday, 643+462 = 1,105 persons were discharged, out of which 464 are from home isolation, 24 are from RIMS (15) and JNIMS (9) and the rest 155 are from other COVID care facilities. According to the Health Department, the discharge of 462 individuals was reported on Friday “due to various reasons”.

“The total number of recovered cases is considered as 1,105 after Reconciliation with reports from IDSP Team, Home Isolation Team, Community Home Isolation Team and Hospitalization Team as on 10th June, 2021,” stated the release from the COVID-19 Common Control Room, Government of Manipur.

With this, the number of active cases in the state dipped to 8,922. Out of this, 3,853 persons are in home isolation. The recovery rate is 83.21 per cent.

The positive cases from the general population are — 230 from Imphal West, 156 from Imphal East, 64 from Churachandpur, 63 from Kakching, 59 from Thoubal, 58 from Bishnupur, 11 from Kangpokpi, nine each from Jiribam, Pherzawl and Tengnoupal, six from Senapati, four each from Chandel and Noney, two from Tamenglong, and one each from Ukhrul and Kamjong.

The number of total infections of the state has reached 58,768. Out of this, 48,902 persons have recovered.

Oxygen Status

As per the Health Department, in the last 24 hours, a total of 1622 D-type Oxygen cylinders and 541 B-type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of Manipur.
