The proscribed United National Liberation Front (UNLF) has denied link to Khundongbam Lanjingba Singh (40) S/o Kh Brojendro Singh of Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri Mapal, Imphal East District who was reported to be arrested by a team of Bishnupur police and 29th Assam Rifles.
Lanjingba was reported to be arrested from Ngakchoupokpi area on January 13. He was arrested along with arms and ammunition, who was allegedly planning to plant explosives along the Tiddim Road ahead of the Republic Day.
The UNLF, in a release, also claimed that the statements given by Lanjingba are not true and are utter lies. It also said that UNLF has not assigned him to carry out any work. The proscribed outfit further claimed that Lanjingba was in a Myanmar jail for four years some time back on arms dealing charges.
