Ukhrul police recover stolen vehicle

According to the police a patrolling team of Ukhrul Police Station led by SI Marchang W came across a Bolero vehicle bearing registration No. MN1K 1203 parked at Kahumtang, Ukhrul, on Tuesday.

Ukhrul police on Tuesday recovered a stolen vehicle from Kahumtanf, Ukhrul. 

According to the police a patrolling team of Ukhrul Police Station led by SI Marchang W came across a Bolero vehicle bearing registration No. MN1K 1203 parked at Kahumtang, Ukhrul, on Tuesday. 

Getting suspicious of the condition of the vehicle specially the registration No., locals and nearby residents were enquired to identify the owner/driver of the vehicle. Witnesses informed the police that the vehicle was kept there in the night since a few weeks back and no one knew the owner or the driver. 

After engaging a motor mechanic, the vehicle was brought at the Police Station. When checked over, it was established that the vehicle was reportedly stolen in the morning of October 20, 2021 from Shajouba village, Senapati and remained traceless till date. 

The actual Registration No. of the vehicle was found to be NL07C 2252 owned by one N Manikho of Shajouba village, Senapati. A missing/stolen report was already registered at Tadubi Police Station under GD Entry No. 10/TBI-PS/2021 Dtd 20/10/2021 and enquiry is being taken up.

The OC of Tadubi PS and the owner of the vehicle were informed. Subsequently, the owner came and claimed the vehicle after producing sufficient proof documents. 

Hunt for the thief(s) is underway and soon it will be successful, the police informed.
