Literary meet held in Ukhrul under ‘Pandemic and Education’ theme

The programme was organised under the initiation and support by TBCA Women Union to encourage the student community of Alice family during these trying times.

Alice Christian Higher Secondary School, Ukhrul organised a one day literary meet cum competition under the theme “Pandemic and Education” at DR. Earl Brooke Hall, Mission Compound, Alungtang, Ukhrul. The programme was organised by Tangkhul Baptist Churches Association (TBCA) Women Union. 

The One-Day Literary Meet cum Competition was organised keeping in mind how the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has impacted many families in general and students in particular. The programme was organised under the initiation and support by TBCA Women Union to encourage the student community of Alice family during these trying times. 

Mobile/smart phones were given as prizes for the winners so that they can have better access to online classes. One student was allowed to compete for one item. Only two students from one family were allowed to participate in the competition. Consolation prizes of Rs 500 each were given to all the participants. 

The competition items were held under various categories — Rhymes, drawing and conversation for LKG to Class II category, story writing on any topic and spelling bee for Class III to Class V category, painting and essay writing from Class VI to Class VIII category and spelling bee and essay writing for Class IX and Class X category. 

“Pandemic and Education” was the topic/theme for the essay competition. Debate competition on the theme ‘School must run physical classes during pandemic’ was participated by students from  Class XI and Class XII. 

Mathasem Zingkhai, Kelungziele and Charis LS were declared the first, second and third position holders respectively in the debate competition. In the essay competition of Class X, Mashitwon Zingkhai, Theishing Ronra Awungshi and Yunkhui Raleng were declared the first, second and third position holders respectively. In the essay competition of Class IX, AS Charshi, Mathing Zingkhai and Wonchunglq Mahak were declared the first, second and third position holders respectively.
