The main objective of the ongoing District League 2021 is to select a team from Ukhrul district for participating in the forthcoming Winner’s Cup 2021 that will start on May 15, 2021.

Ukhrul District Sports Association (UDSA) under the aegis of All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) organised District League 2021 to select football clubs from Ukhrul district to participate in the 24th Thangjam Birachandra-Maipakpi Memorial Winner’s Cup.
Achung Luikham, senior UDSA member, kicked off the District League 2021 on Tuesday at Pettigrew College Ground. Eight football clubs from Ukhrul are participating in the tournament that will wind up on April 24, 2021.
Since April 25, 2021 is the last date to recommend the champion team from Ukhrul district to AMFA, the said District League is being organised in accordance with COVID protocols promulgated by the Government of Manipur and all COVID appropriate behaviours were strictly followed.
Matches were conducted without the presence of audience or fans. The main objective of the ongoing District League 2021 is to select a team from Ukhrul district for participating in the forthcoming Winner’s Cup 2021 that will start on May 15, 2021.
The organiser also distributed masks to team officials and players, hand sanitizer and thermometer was also used for checking the temperature of players and officials.
In the opening match, United Brothers FC defeated Pasi FC by a score margin of 4-0. In the second match played between Shangshak FC and Zingtun FC, the match ended in a draw by scoring two goals each.
In the third match, Loree Kaju Transformational Organisation (LKTO) defeated Fusion FC by a score of 3 -1. And in the fourth and last match of day one played between Ukhrul FC and Yarkhok United FC, the match ended in a draw with a score of 1-1.
UDSA has conducted the said tournament after getting written clearance from AMFA. The District League 2021 is powered by Samodan Maruti – Maruti Suzuki Arena.
