“What more ample proof we need of Backdoor appointment? Only God knows how many relatives of Ministers/MLAs/top government officials have been appointed in TED as per the manipulated exam thus depriving thousands of genuine candidates the chance to get gainful employment”, stated RPP.

Rising People’s Party (RPP) on Friday has sought resignations of the advisors, DUDA, Bongkhao Konyak and MedoYokha, Advisor for Technical Education Department (TED).

In a press statement, RPP has claimed that it in possession of the text of a Whatsapp conversation purportedly between Advisor for DUDA, Bongkhao Konyak, and Medo Yokha, Advisor, Technical Education Department (TED), related to appointment of a candidate, K Angki Konyak, as Lecturer in the TED.

The press statement also highlighted about a message being circulated by the advisor, Bongkhao Konyak, to advisor, Medo.

Though K. Angki Konyak, has been listed in the “Waiting List category” of the “selected candidates” which was published by the Technical Education Department TED on February 10 this year, which was well carried in all the local news dailies.

RPP had earlier stated that the interview for the posts of lecturers and demonstrators carried out by the TED between February 7 to 9, 2022, should be cancelled. All departmental recruitment processes were farcical with the candidates already selected beforehand, and the conduct of written and interview tests are mere formalities to present the picture of “fair recruitment”, said RPP.

The statement also said that the February 10 “selected candidates” notification has more “appointees” than the actual number of posts advertised.

RPP said that the “diabolical character of the TED was shocking” and added that if it goes without saying that the “Waiting List” candidates will also be absorbed into the department, it is now proved without reasonable doubt that the TED has more “hidden posts” than it has actually revealed in public domain.

“What more ample proof we need of Backdoor appointment? Only God knows how many relatives of Ministers/MLAs/top government officials have been appointed in TED as per the manipulated exam thus depriving thousands of genuine candidates the chance to get gainful employment”, stated RPP.  It further demanded that the departmental recruitment exercise of the TED being illegal, all results should be declared “null and void” by the NDPP-BJP-NPF coalition government.

RPP said that the State government should constitute a judicial enquiry headed by a sitting High Court Judge to probe the matter while both Advisors— Bongkhao Konyak, and MedoYokha, should resign from their positions immediately.
