Nagaland Cyber Crime Police register case against ‘HPZ Tokens’ scammers

The Nagaland State Cyber Crime Police Station, on Thursday has reportedly lodged a written complaint under Information Technology Act (ITA) against unknown persons on allegation of “fraudsters” under the banner “HPZ Tokens”.
According to Nagaland’s Cyber Crime Police Station, the “fraudsters” under the banner and style “HPZ Tokens” have been duping thousands of people across the country amounting to Crores of rupees where the scammer’s modus operandi was to first lure the victims to invest in the company on the pretext of doubling their investment by an app called HPZ Token.
It was learnt that initially, some investors did received their “double returns” of their investments thereby the gullible victims were asked to introduce more investors inorder to get additional incentives or bonuses apart from their “downline commission”.
The scam in Nagaland started in June last year and by August, the fraudsters stopped the payments and the website is not accessible.
In this, the police have asked the public to volunteer and share information if any, with regard to the said company to mobile number 8413980982.
Meanwhile, the State’s Cybercrime Branch has requested all not to share bank details/OPTs with anyone and to avoid transferring of money to unknown persons/accounts without clear confirmation.
