53 Haofa dogs receive anti-rabies vaccination in Ukhrul

Phungcham Haofa Lovers Association (PHLA) on Saturday held an Anti-rabies vaccination camp at Phungcham.

Phungcham Haofa Lovers Association (PHLA) expressed immense gratitude to Khashim Vashum, Minister of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry and Transport, Government of Manipur and Ukhrul Veterinary Department for providing 100 shots of Anti-rabies vaccine free of cost.

Vice President of PHLA, Yangpen Yangya stated that “we are grateful to Khashim Vashum, Hon’ble Minister of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry and Transport, Manipur and Ukhrul Veterinary Department for providing the Anti-rabies vaccine for free. We were able to administered Anti-rabies vaccination to 53 numbers of Haofa on Saturday at Phungcham. We will also carry out vaccination at Varangalai on Sunday evening.”

PHLA aims to preserve and promote Haofa – the indigenous canine breed of Tangkhul community. The only Association for Haofa is formed by Haofa owners and promoters from Phungcham, Ukhrul District, Manipur in 2021. Today, the Assocaition has around 40 members. The Association has displayed Haofa during the recent Shirui Lily Festival 2022. PHLA is planning to organise Haofa Show in 2023 at Phungcham.
