Sadar Hills ADC hands over ALS ambulance to CMO Kangpokpi to combat COVID-19

Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council Kangpokpi has provided four ambulances for temporary utilisation in COVID-19 related matters to the medical department.

As part of its efforts in helping the medical department in the fight against the dreaded COVID-19 in Kangpokpi District, Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council, Kangpokpi on Wednesday handed over one more ambulance to the chief medical officer of Kangpokpi.

With the handing over of an advanced life support ambulance on Wednesday, Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council Kangpokpi has provided four ambulances for temporary utilization in COVID-19 related matters to the medical department.

ADC Sadar Hills caretaker chairman Haokholal Hangshing handed over the ambulance to Kangpokpi CMO Dr J Touthang in the presence of Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council Kangpokpi CEO James Doujapao Haokip, former vice chairman of ADC Sadar Hills and other former ADC Sadar Hills members and medical officials.

Speaking on the sideline of the handing over ceremony, caretaker chairman Haokholal Hangshing said that as part of our initiative to combat the pandemic COVID-19 in the district, we handed over another ambulance with advanced life support.

He instructed the CMO to ensure that the ambulances are used accordingly on COVID-19 related matters only while appealing to the people of Kangpokpi to understand the importance of ambulances and render maximum cooperation and support to the ambulance drivers and patients inside the ambulance in case of any trouble faced by them anywhere.

The caretaker chairman also urged all concerned authorities to work sincerely and dedicatedly for the welfare of the people during this critical time.

 Meanwhile, James Doujapao Haokip said that the ambulance was procured by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and Hills Department under the 15th Finance Commission of the ADCs and distributed to it.

He also said that another two ambulances with built-in basic life support and auto stretcher foldable legs procured under the same ministry were also handed over to the medical department earlier after one ambulance of SHADC Kangpokpi was handed over since the first wave of the pandemic.
