RK Ranjan accorded warm welcome in Kangpokpi

Hundreds of Kangpokpi denizens, young and old, men and women turned out as early as 9:00 am to welcome the newly-inducted Union Minister of State. They waited whole day for him who arrived at the town at 5 pm.

The people of Kangpokpi on Tuesday warmly welcomed Union Minister of States External Affairs and Education Dr RK Ranjan, who reached the town at around 5:00 pm.

The union minister was supposed to arrive at the town in the morning. However, due to series of greetings and meetings from Mao Gate till Mayangkhang before reaching Kangpokpi town, the Union Minister and his team could not reach on time.

Hundreds of Kangpokpi denizens, young and old, men and women turned out as early as 9:00 am to welcome the Union Minister. They waited whole day for the union minister cheerfully.

As soon as RK Ranjan his team arrived at Kangpokpi town, local MLA Nemcha Kipgen greeted them and serve them launch before visiting the district COVID-19 Vaccination Centre at Inspection Bungalow, Kangpokpi.

After inspecting the Vaccination Centre,. Ranjan, BJP Manipur Pradesh president A. Sarda Devi, Ministers and MLAs handed over the protective gears to the District Vaccination Manager in the presence of CMO Kangpokpi, Medical Superintendent District Hospital Kangpokpi and DSO Kangpokpi.

Later, the Union Minister of States External Affairs and Education was warmly welcome by the people of Kangpokpi under the aegis of BJP Kangpokpi Mandal for a blessing ceremony (Ashirvachand Karyakaram) at Mandop Community Hall at Kangpokpi Ward No.11.

Presentation of traditional shawls, clothes, and items from Kangpokpi Town Committee on behalf of the people of Kangpokpi to various other organisations leaders, including Gorkha community, BJP Kangpokpi Mandal, etc. opened the programme followed by greetings traditional dance from the Kuki community and Gorkha community of Kangpokpi Ward No.14 and Toribari.

A giant banner inscribed with, “Thank You Narendra Modiji, Prime Minister and BJP Central Committee for appointing Dr RK Ranjan as Union Minister of States External Affairs and Education” was put up on display to show gratitude to be Prime Minister and the BJP central committee.

On the sideline of the blessing ceremony, old-age pension cards were also handed over to beneficiaries by the Union Minister and other dignitaries.

Elegantly donned with Thadou traditional waistcoat, RK Ranjan thanked the people of Kangpokpi for their love and support while conveying gratitude to the Prime Minister for the appointment as the Union Minister.

“It was all because of the love and concern of our Prime Minister that I was appointed as the Union Minister to fulfill the commitment, vision, and people’s oriented goals of the BJP towards its people in Manipur”, he added.

Local MLA Nemcha Kipgen said that the recent inclusion of the two cabinet ministers and three ministers of state is the highest ever representation from the North East so far in the union cabinet. “We are truly overwhelmed and words are insufficient to express how grateful we are to our Prime Minister Narendra Modiji and the Central Committee as this is the testament to the fact that inclusivity and diversity are the indispensable ethos of the Bharatiya Janata Party,” she added.

A memorandum was submitted by Lunseh Kipgen, Chairman Kangpokpi Town Committee on behalf of the people of Kangpokpi urging the Union Ministers of States to institute a Government College and construct Tribal Boys and Girls Hostels at Kangpokpi District Headquarters while highlighting a brief account of Kangpokpi, one of the oldest town in the state.The program was also attended by BJP general secretary organisation and in charge of Manipur and Nagaland Abhay Kumar Giri, Caretaker ADC Sadar Hills Haokholal Hangshing, DC Kangpokpi Somorjit Salam, SP Kangpokpi Karthik Malladi, president BJP Sadar Hills Thangjamang Kipgen, president BJP Kangpokpi Mandal Tingnei Lhouvum and various other BJP leaders and CSOs of Kangpokpi.
