National Socialist Council of Nagalim or the NSCN (I-M) has denied any links with the Dimasa National Liberation Army (DNLA).

Much to the indignation of NSCN (I-M), the security forces had gone to the extent of linking the DNLA as the new front used by NSCN (I-M) for the purpose of extortion in Assam. For the NSCN (I-M), the need to use other organisations for extortion does not arise at all, stated the Naga outfit in a release by its Ministry of Information and Publicity.

“We go for legitimate tax collections from different commercial sources and have nothing to do with extortion as interpreted by the security forces,” it added.

NSCN (I-M) also denied the role of Brigadier Chipemmi Shimrang for his alleged link with DNLA. Brig. C. Shimrang has not been around Nagalim since 2016. So, it is highly ridiculous to use his name in the security forces scheme of anti-NSCN (I-M) propaganda, it added.

Alleging that security forces gunned down eight cadres of DNLA on May 23, 2021 at Dugudisha in Karbi Anglong, Assam, the Naga outfit termed it nothing less than a “pure act of insanity”. They were killed in a fake encounter. The security forces should not drag NSCN (I-M)’s name to save its face from their wicked manner of counter-insurgency operations, it asserted.

Stating that the Indian security forces had once again indulged in making wild allegations against the NSCN (I-M), the outfit said that it is the irony of the situation created by the security forces in the land of the ceasefire that has facilitated the ongoing Naga peace talks for over two decades.
