N Brien Singh has urged the public not to spread rumours and verify information being circulated and facts on the prevailing situation. “Please do not organise any rallies or protests at this juncture”, pleaded the chief minister.

“Let us forgive and forget, peace must come back to Manipur. The Union Home Minister Amit Shah has promised all necessary help and taking stock of ongoing situation in Manipur. The government is trying to establish SoO ground rules effectively”, said Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Monday.

At a press conference held at chief minister’s secretariat, N Brien Singh has urged the public not to spread rumours and verify information being circulated and facts on the prevailing situation. “Please do not organise any rallies or protests at this juncture”, pleaded the chief minister.

However, BJP sources from the Centre said that N Biren Singh along with the ten dissenting tribal MLAs had been directed to focus on resuming normalcy in Manipur. They had also been clearly instructed not to engage in “petty politics” and that both sides have to come together and present an united front. The sources said that the dispute and the violence which broke out in Manipur has been  “mishandled by the state government”.

It may be mentioned that Chief Minister N Biren Singh air dashed to New Delhi on Sunday in a chartered plane on being summoned by Central BJP party leaders. The chief minister was accompanied by Education Minister Th Basanta Kumar, RD & PR Minister Y Khemchand, Power Minister Th Biswajit, Works Minister K Govindas and BJP state unit president A Sarda.
