With the rise in COVID-19 cases, Ukhrul District Hospital has inducted 10 doctors on contractual basis for a period of six months.
Ukhrul CMO Dr Kapangring A Shimray informed that “Young, dynamic and well-motivated consisting of seven male and three female doctors, on contractual basis for six months, have been inducted for managing COVID-19 Isolation Ward at Ukhrul District Hospital”. He added that they will be paid Rs. 75,000 per month by the Health Department of Manipur.
Dr. Urthem Shaiza, Dr. Soreishang Shinrah, Dr. Ng. Ngajokpa Martin, Dr. Th. Polan, Dr. Michael Kadah, Dr. LP. Huimila, Dr. Phungangam Kamei, Dr. Pairson PM, Dr. Mungvah Chonreipem, and Dr. Sorinchan Khaleng, were inducted on Monday after giving necessary training.
Meanwhile, seven fresh positive cases of COVID-19 were reported on Monday. A total of 18 patients are in Isolation COVID Ward of District Hospital out of which 13 are in high flow oxygen. 50 patients in COVID Care Centre, Transit Quarter, Phungreitang, Ukhrul, 17 in Jessami Isolation Centre, one in Lambui Isolation Centre and four in Tongou Village Community Isolation Centre.
