Shalom School, Longwa marks Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

As part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, Longwa Post of Mon Battalion Assam Rifles conducted a Special awareness lecture cum seminar and screened a patriotic movie at Shalom School near India-Myanmar Border as a mark of Azadi tribute to freedom fighters

Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, 75 Years of Independence was celebrated at Shalom School, Longwa (Mon District), Nagaland on Monday (1 August 2022). This event was attended by the school administration, Village authorities, youth wing and 350 students of the school.

The event was conducted with an aim to instil pride in every citizen about National Flag and Independence. During the lecture, students were briefed about the national flag code and importance of National Flag. They were motivated to take pride in celebrating 75 years of Independence.  Culmination of events with National Song and followed by sweets distribution as well. The participation from students and local authorities was commendable and they expressed gratitude towards Longwa Post of Assam Rifles for organising informative events.

Assam Rifles also distributes Smart TV, Water Dispenser & Water Tanks to Kong Jong School, Mon, District Mon on the day. The items were present as a good will gesture for students by Col Santosh Rawat, SM Commandant 27 Assam Rifles to have an interactive and upgraded classroom with a convenient and comfortable environment for a happy learning place.

It was noticed that the school faces the shortage of clean drinking water & water shortage which causes inconvenience to students. Considering that four syntax tanks along with one water dispenser was also handed over to school authorities so that children can have clean drinking water.

During the event, the benefits of the Agniveer scheme were iterated by the Assam Rifles. Information regarding free Registration desk being run by 27 Assam Rifles at Mon post for candidates of Mon district was also iterated to school students and others attending the event.

School founder Nyamto Wangsha Konyak expressed gratitude towards Assam Rifles for providing the items which will subsequently help the school to create an effective learning environment. He praised Assam Rifles saying that Assam Rifles has always stood up and worked for betterment of Konyak Land.
