Phungcham Hailstorm: Ukhrul District Administration Send Teams For Spot Assessment

The hailstorm that occurred on Saturday damaged 55 houses at Phungcham. District Administration of Ukhrul on Sunday send teams for spot assessment.

The Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul, Krishna Kumar has promptly deputed officials to take stock of the damages cause by heavy hailstorm at Phungcham. A total of 55 houses has been badly damaged by the hailstorm that occurred on Saturday around 6:00 pm.

The visiting team visited all the houses where damages were reported. The house owners gave detailed information by filling up the required forms and also provided the details of their bank accounts along with aadhar card. The team had made an assessment of the damage along with the members of Phungcham Village Development Council (VDC).

Chairman of Phungcham Village Development Council, Ngathingkhui Horam has appealed to the concerned authority to look into the grievances of the people and has also appealed for early relief or necessary compensation to the 55 households.

Villagers expressed gratitude to the District Administration for its prompt response. The assessment wound up in the late evening at around 7:30 pm.
