Neo Era FC is the champion of the 20th edition of Peh Martyrs Memorial Trophy. Neo Era FC defeated Comet FC by a score of 3-1 in the final match played on Saturday at Peh Village.

Wungpam Raikhan, intending NPF candidate from 45-Chingai Assembly Constituency attended the closing ceremony as Chief Guest. In his speech, Wungpam Raikhan implored the gathering to unitedly rise and reclaim the past history and to preserve our identity which is on the verge of extinction.

Wungpam Raikhan stated “Peh is located in a beautiful place. The vast stretch of plain areas is mesmerizing and is a viable place for commercial hub of the areas. Ukhrul is over populated now, it is too congested for outsiders to come and stay. It is time we restructure and tapped the available facilities in the local. Revamping education institution is priority for the better future of Peh”

He further continued that “scarcity of water is the main problems face by the villagers and suggested remedies that we should start exploring the ground water by digging pore wells or tube wells. The resources we get from ground water after filtration process would be sufficiently for everyday consumption of the village. We have power supply, we can make use of the power to generate or pump water from lower level to higher level for supplying drinking water at doorstep.”

“I have tendered my resignation from Engineer CPWD and have decided to contest election to serve the people. I will always look forward to your support and cooperation to achieve my future endeavour. Today, it is very difficult to find jobs in the Government sector. We should explore other avenues like sports and tourism etc. as our means of livelihood” stated Wungpam Raikhan. He wish the gathering a prosperous and progressive new year 2022.

A total of 6 football clubs from Peh village were invited for participation in the ongoing tournament that kickstarted on December 27, 2021.
