There are few medical professionals in Nagaland who have specialized in the treatment and prevention of the spread of infections. Making a major contribution to clinical infection management, a doctor has made tremendous contributions in medical imaging (radiology) procedures (exams/tests) such as X-rays, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), nuclear medicine, positron emission tomography (PET) and ultrasound. All these facilities are now available at the Apex Diagnostic Clinic and Research Centre (ADCRC)  that was inaugurated recently at ABC Building Naharbari, Dimapur.
Keeping in mind that many have to travel outside the state of Nagaland to avail these facilities, Dr Lumbeni Kithan, who is armed with MD Microbiology from the prestigious Father Muller Medical College, Mangalore, has now provided a ray of hope for the denizens of Dimapur and beyond.

Dr Worshim Khamrang, who holds a position as the senior radiologist from DMRD, Madras Medical College, Chennai, said that ADCRC’s main objective is to give its best in upgrading research related to microbiology in the state.
Inaugurating the diagnostic clinic and research centre, former MLA and parliamentary secretary, and retired additional chief engineer, Nagaland State Transport, Wochumo Kithan, congratulated the husband and wife duo, both doctors, in opening the much needed clinic and research centre.

While lauding the duo for their ceaseless contributions towards humanity, Kithan asked all to be supportive towards the duo’s initiatives with a hope that the people would support them in their endeavours.
Others who spoke included Superintendent of Police and Head of Branch, CBI Anti Corruption, Ng Khamrang, and retired senior engineer, PHE, Nagaland, R Kikon,
Facilities available at the newly opened clinic and research centre included Ultrasound, X-ray, Ultrasound guided interventions and procedures, Culture and sensitivity, Blood and other routine tests, Master health checkups and OPD consultations.
Apart from well-wishers from Manipur, chairperson of Naharbari Village Council (NVC), Tokheli Kikon, senior doctors from Dimapur attended the programme.
Exhortation and dedicatory prayer was pronounced by Pastor, Town Baptist Church, Dimapur, Rev Vilodi Sakhrie.
