MRF rubbishes ‘lies’ circulated by KIM, ITLF, KSO, other Kuki organisations

Unfortunately, truth, virtue, and ethical consideration, as the Bible teaches, are missing from KIM, ITLF, Kuki Students Organization, or any other Kuki organization. However, they claim to be Christians and could go all the way to New Delhi, Kerala, Europe and North America, playing the Christian card of victimhood. Truth is the foundation for any claim. Kuki Christians must stop circulating disinformation and misleading people, including the global Christian brethren for political mileage.

On 25th April 2024, Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) came out with a press release appealing to the Indian Government for its “immediate intervention and impartial investigation over the incessant attack on Kuki-Zo dominated areas”. Further, it alleged that “the recent attempt to disrupt the crucial economic lifeline of the state before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency” is “by the combined forces of the valley-based insurgent groups, Chief Minister N. Biren Singh and MP Maharaja Leishemba Sanajaoba’s “private militias” like Arambai Tenggol and Meitei Leepun”. For a while, Meitei Resssurgence Forum (MReF) paused and thought about not responding to the blatant lies. Then, better sense prevailed over us. Truth must be told. On 16th April 2024, Kuki narco-terrorists ambushed oil and LPG gas tankers along NH-37 (Imphal-Jiribam Road) between Tollen (Kuki Village) and Santikhunou under Tousem Police station in Tamenglong district. The attack also led to one truck driver being injured.

On 24th April 2024, Kuki narco-terrorists blasted a critical bridge between Sapermeina and Koubru Laikha on National Highway-2, which is a Kuki-dominated area. The powerful IED blast damaged the bridge, leaving over 150 trucks carrying essential commodities to the state capital, Imphal, stranded in the Senapati district. Earlier, there were incidences when Kuki narco-terrorists poured toxic materials into rivers flowing down from Kuki-dominated areas (hills) to the Imphal valley. These are few of the various incidences of terrorist attacks committed by the Kuki narco-terrorists and not by Shri Biren Singh or any other Meitei organization.

Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) seems to have forgotten what the Holy Bible says about “lying”. The Bible condemns lying in many places. First, let’s look at some quotations from the Old Testament. All quotations are from the English Standard Version or ESV. “Proverbs” (12:22) states, “Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who act faithfully are his delight”. Similarly, Leviticus (19:11) states, “You shall not steal; you shall not deal falsely; you shall not lie to one another”. Further, “Proverbs” (13:5) reemphasizes, “The righteous hate what is false, but the wicked make themselves a stench and bring shame on themselves”. “Exodus” (20:16) adds, “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbour”. Finally, “Psalm” (101:7) warns, “No one who practices deceit shall dwell in my house; no one who utters lies shall continue before my eyes”.

These verses highlight that God detests lying and values honesty. They instruct followers to speak truthfully and avoid deceit in their interactions with others. Moreover, the New Testament reinforces the Old Testament’s condemnation of lying and emphasizes truthfulness within the Christian community. Let’s glance through a few New International Version or NIV quotations. “John” (8:44) states, “You belong to your father, the devil, who was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, because he is a liar and the father of lie”. This verse connects lying with the devil, an opposition to God.

Further, “Colossians” (3:9) asserts, “Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator”. Here, lying is associated with the “old self” that Christians are meant to abandon and replace with truthful living. “Ephesians (4:25) adds, “Therefore, each of you must put away falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbour, for we are all members of one body”. This verse emphasizes truthfulness as essential for Christian community, where members rely on honesty from each other.

Finally, “Revelation” (22:15) lists “lying” among serious sins that exclude people from the Kingdom of God. These verses show that the New Testament expects followers of Christ to be truthful in their words and dealings with others.

The Kuki narco-terrorists, along with their supporters, provoked and attacked the Meiteis first to engineer a clash and subsequently leveraging tribal and Christian narratives to portray themselves as victims. This sequence of events is now widely recognized. To foster peace, it is essential that they apologize for their aggression and engage constructively in peace-building efforts, rather than misleading the public which encourages further terrorist attacks. MReF understands that it is a political game played by the Kuki narco-terrorists and the Kuki CSOs including KIM are just dancing to the tune of the music played by the narco-terrorists. Ultimately, you’ll lose the political game.

Finally, we demand that the Government of India take immediate action over the ongoing terror attacks on national properties for keeping Manipur under siege by Kuki narco-terrorists to achieve their mischievous goals. Punish the terrorists before it is too late.
