Sagolband Assembly Constituency is posed for an interesting contest in the upcoming 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election 2022. INC candidate Moirangthem Momo, BJP candidate Rajkumar Imo and JD (U) candidate Kh Loken are the main contenders – ready for the electoral battle.

JD (U) candidate Kh Loken, who was visibly peeved with the BJP for not issuing a party ticket to him for the ensuing election said he had struggled for long. He has also opined that the fruits of the saffron party is being swallowed by people who had contributed less to the development of the party.
It may be mentioned that in the 11th Manipur Assembly 2017 election, he was defeated by his main rival by the “controversially” 19 votes. Kh Loken as the BJP candidate got 10 more votes than his Congress rival when votes were registered in EVMs. However, the rival Congress candidate managed to win Sagolband seat as he got 19 more votes after the postal ballots were taken into account.
Like many other candidates in the fray, Kh Loken feels that Sagolband is a constituency that needs further improvement in infrastructure and the living standards of the people. He is truly confident of wresting the seat from his nearest rival.
