Since the Meiphung Production was established in 2014, it would not be wrong to say that with its inception the Tangkhul Film Industry was revived. The production house celebrated its 7th Anniversary at its office at Hamleikhong, Ukhrul on Thursday.
COO of Meiphung Production Seema KS Awungshi said, “We have come this far because of the unceasing support of the community. “Semkasa Ithot” let us build our generations together.”
Seema KS Awungshi said that “because of the pandemic, the production house have put on halt some of our projects. However, we have managed to produce two music videos and our fifth movie “Khanaowa Shongza” will be released in October. And we are planning to shoot a movie based on our forefathers and tradition which will be our biggest movie project.”
She further disclosed that the Production House has upgraded their sound system, the printer, procure a new vehicle and added legal consultant and accountant for its smooth functioning.
Meiphung Production has successfully wrapped up their “Sharum” , the famous Saturday Talk Show Season I and II. Each season comprises 15 episodes each. The talk show covers socially relevant issues including education, politics, sports and women issues.
The other activities include Youth Football Coaching For Free under the initiative of Meiphung Foundation. One of their trainees Chikan Kongyak has been selected for enrollment in Minerva Academy. The Meiphung Foundation has signed a contract with Hornipam Ruivah, ISL player for a 3-year sponsorship of Youth Football Coaching For Free. Meiphung Production also distributed sanitary napkins to a few neighbouring villages of Ukhrul Town, Girls hostel and orphanage home. “We look forward to your undivided support even in the days to come” added Seema KS Awungshi.
Attending the celebration, Selina Chanthing who has acted in two movies of Meiphung, stated that “it is always pleasant working with Meiphung because of their professionalism. They deliver the project on time, and I have learned so much working with them.”
Artists of “Khanaowa Shongza” and staff of Meiphung attended the celebration. Rev. Theophilus Zimik invokes God’s blessing and guidance for the days to come. Young and upcoming artists Samsung Vashum and Zingkumwon Ruivah enthralled the gathering with their superb performance adding more color to the celebration.
