Manipur extends Covid-19 curfew till June 30

The number of infections of coronavirus and deaths due to Covid-19 remained high in the state and there is need to continue with the restrictions till it shows a “considerable decline”, the order stated.

The Manipur government on Friday extended the “Curfew” in seven districts — Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Kakching, Churachandpur and Ukhrul with limited permitted activities, and the guidelines including restrictions on inter district movements in respect of the remaining nine districts — Senapati, Kangpokpi, Kamjong, Tengnoupal, Chandel, Pherzawl, Noney, Tamenglong and Jiribam, till June 30, 2021.

The Home Department has issued an order to this effect. The number of infections of the COVID-19 virus detected and deaths remained high in the state and there is need to continue with the restrictions till it shows a “considerable decline”, the order stated.

Some activities have been permitted in addition to the existing permitted activities. They included —

Airlines City Booking Reservation Office from 10 am to 2 pm (except Sunday) by taking adequate precaution and strictly following COVID Appropriate Behaviour.

Railway Booking Reservation Office at MSRTC complex from 10 am to 2pm (except Sunday) by taking adequate precaution and strictly following COVID Appropriate Behaviour.

Bakery operations with in situ workers by taking adequate precaution and strictly following COVID Appropriate Behaviour.

DCs and SPs have been instructed to take necessary action to implement the orders strictly.
