The accused shot the victim in the head with a single barrel shotgun at a brick farm. The man has been arrested and the weapon used in the commission of the crime has been seized.

In a gruesome incident, a 22-year old woman was shot dead by a man at Sabungkhok Khunou of Yaingangpokpi area at Sunday around 9 pm. The man is reported to have used a shot-gun to commit the crime.
According to police sources, the accused is identified as one Khangembam Ashok, aged around 28 and son of Kh Naran of Khurai Ahongei Leikai Leikai.
The accused eloped with the deceased woman identified as Ningthoujam Lanthoibi alias Ichal, aged around 22 and daughter of N Mani of Heiri Khagok Bamonleikai, Imphal East, said police souces.
She eloped with the accused on March 6 last and was staying at a brick farm reportedly owned by the accused. It was also learnt that the accused Ashok is already married and has two children. He had shot Lanthoibi in the head with a single barrel shotgun at the brick farm. Accused has been arrested by police and the weapon used in the commission of the crime has been seized.
