Heroin worth Rs 2.7 crore seized in Nagaland, one from Manipur among 3 held

Two cases have been registered with Narcotic Cell PS under section 21(C)/60 NDPS Act registered against them and further investigation is on

Three persons, including one from Manipur, were arrested with Heroin in two separate incidents in Nagaland on Friday, officials said.

In the first incident, a native of Manipur identified as Hrüpunü Michael Thosha (40 yrs), S/o S Sosü from Lakhamai, Tadubi was arrested Narcotic Cell PS personnel manning the Narcotic Checkpoint at Khuzama with 520 grams of suspected Heroin worth Rs. 1.5 crore in illicit global market around 07:20 am on Friday. A vehicle bearing registration number AS01 BK 1502 was also seized from him.

In this connection, a case has been registered at Narcotic Cell PS under section 21(C)/60 NDPS Act against him and further investigation is on, police said.

In another incident, two natives of Assam were also arrested with Heroin at the same check gate. The arrested were identified as Monjur Ahmed (35 yrs), S/o Fanizur Rahman, V/o Khudakandi, Dist. Karimganj, Assam  and Joynal Ahmed (24 yrs), S/o Safique Rahman, V/o Khudakandi, Dist. Karimganj, Assam.

The duo was arrested by Narcotic Cell PS personnel manning the Narcotic Checkpoint at Khuzama around 08:30 am on Friday.

377 grams of suspected Heroin worth around Rs. 1.2 crores in illicit global markets were recovered from their possession.

A case was registered at Narcotic Cell PS under section 21(C)/60 NDPS Act and further investigation is in progress, police said.
