CTYO appeals Nagaland government to extend ILP till Chumoukedima

CTYO has appealed to the general public not to form any new unions/organizations which could create burden on the public in Chumoukedima town.

Chumukedima Town Youth Organization (CTYO) has appealed the Nagaland state government for extension of Inner Line Permit (ILP) to cover the district of Chumoukedima. Since the bifurcation of Dimapur district and the formation of the district of Chumoukedima, ILP system is not operational in the latter.

CTYO in a press release issued by its president Hovishe Naleo, and general secretary Avi Makritsu stated that even after the state government’s notification on December 9, 2019, for extending the ILP to the then entire district of Dimapur, it was yet to be implemented for which it has urged the government to expedite the process of implementing the ILP system.

On formation of unions/organizations:
The youth organization also stated that it has observed that after the formation of Chumoukedima district, many new unions and organizations have come up. CTYO has expressed doubts over the “genuineness or motive behind” the formation of the organizations.
In this regard, CTYO has appealed to the general public not to form any new unions/organizations which could create burden on the public in Chumoukedima town. The organization has ask all to follow the guidelines through proper channel if they need to form a genuine one after thorough consultation with all stakeholders.

On multiple taxations:
After observing that multiple elements have emerged to collect “tax” causing hardships to business community and general public of Chumoukedima town, CTYO said it would not tolerate “anti-social elements” and strict action(s) would be taken against those indulging in “unlawful” demands.
It reiterated that it would remain steadfast on the declaration of “one government, one taxation” as the citizens of Chumoukedima had unanimously resolved to pay “tax” to only “one entity” per the resolution of February 13, 2014.

Unwanted activities in Chumoukedima town:
CTYO has also reiterated that it would not tolerate any activities which disrupt peace in Chumoukedima town including drinking in public places, substance abuse, rowdy and intoxicated behaviour, loud music during wee hours etc and anyone who does so follow the would be dealt with strictly.
Meanwhile, business establishments have also be urged to refrain from selling expired items and goods beyond the MRP.
Strict action would be taken against the defaulters added the CTYO.
