COVID-19: Manipur reports 798 fresh cases, state positivity rate dips to 13.95 per cent

18 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 825.

Manipur on Tuesday reported 798 new COVID-19 cases and 18 deaths. The state positivity rate of the day significantly dipped to 13.95 per cent from Monday’s 17.18 per cent.

Active cases in the state stood at 8,942. Out of these, 4,921 active cases are in home isolation at present.

Imphal West reported 323 new cases, while the other positive cases from the general population were from — 207 from Imphal East, 81 from Thoubal, 52 from Churachandpur, 49 from Bishnupur, 19 each from Jiribam and Ukhrul, 14 from Kakching, 13 from Senapati, nine from Kangpokpi, eight from Tamenglong, and three from Chandel.

Imphal East and Imphal West reported five deaths each, two each from Churachandpur and Kakching, and one each from Jiribam, Kangpokpi, Noney and Thoubal. They died at Shija Hospital (5), DH Jiribam (1), Raj Medicity (2), CCC Kangpokpi (1), DH Thoubal (1), DH Churachandpur (2), RIMS (5), and JNIMS (1) hospital.

629 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours ending 5 pm Tuesday from — CAPF (16), Home Isolation (408), RIMS (31), JNIMS (18), BB (5), NSU (10), SHRI (13), LANVA (1), RD Wing (4), Babina Speciality Hospital (8), CCC Lamboikhongnangkhong (48), Jivan Hospital (6), Thoubal (12), Bishnupur (3), Kakching (8), Tamenglong (4), Tengnoupal (2), Churachandpur (11), Chandel (2), and Ukhrul (19). The recovery rate has dropped to 81.per cent.

The total number of infections in the state has reached 51,549 and 825 total deaths.

Oxygen Status:

As per the Health Department, in the last 24 hours, a total of 1460 D-type Oxygen cylinders and 543 B type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of Manipur. District Hospitals and Government institutions have 323D and 71B filled cylinders; out of these —
