College students face uncertainty, DMU authority says will take decision after situation improves

TSU GP Women’s College and DESAM GP Women’s College Unit Council on Tuesday jointly urged the authority of Dhanamanjuri University to clarify and make a concrete statement regarding the pending examination of different colleges under the varsity. 

In a joint release, the student bodies said that the college students of the state under DM University are facing an uncertain future due to the prevailing situations induced by the raging pandemic. 

Although several universities across the country adopted different measures to conduct examinations, the examination for the first, third and fifth semester under DM University have not been conducted to date. And this has become the main concern for the future of the students, it added. 

Meanwhile, DM University controller of examination A Nabachandra Singh has issued a release on Tuesday regarding the matter. 

The examinations of Dhanamanjuri University, Manipur, will be kept in abeyance for the time being and a decision in this regard will be taken under UGC guidelines when the pandemic situation improves, it said. 

The decision was taken according to the UGC Letter DO No. F-14-8/2020 (CPP-II) dated May 6, 2021, written to all higher education institutions and the subsequent discussion in the Examination Committee meeting regarding the pending examinations of Dhanamanjuri University, Manipur, due to the grave situation of the COVID-19 pandemic in the State of Manipur, it added.
