Arrestees are ‘extortionists’ misusing UNLF’s name, says its media coordinator

“The two were impersonating as UNLF members and were collecting money for their own gains. They are part of a gang tarnishing the name of UNLF”, said the outfit.

Th Charairongba, media coordinator, department of publicity of the proscribed UNLF says that the two persons arrested by police in connection with planting of bomb in Chingamakha, demand letters and explosive materials, namely Kshetrimayum Bhogendro, son of Ksh Kunjakeshor, Khongman Zone III and Aheibam Nabin, son of A Nabakumar, Thangmeiband Yumnam Leikai are not related to UNLF/MPA at all.

In a press release, the media coordinator said that the two were members of gang “indulging in extortion”.

“The two were impersonating as UNLF members and were collecting money for their own gains. They are part of a gang tarnishing the name of UNLF”, said the release.

The proscribed UNLF also said that the two had been creating fear psychosis misusing the name of UNLF department of finance director Kh Leisemba and there is no one with the name “maj. Chaoba” in UNLF/MPA as was made know to public earlier, said the release.

“It was also made know earlier that they will be punished for being indulging in “counter revolutionary” activities”, further added the outfit.
