Election for Executive Council and Assembly Executive of the NSF for the tenure 2021–2023 will be held on April 30 at 2:00 pm at the NSF Conference Hall, Ukhrul, Manipur.

After 28 years, Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS) is hosting the 29th Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) Conference at Ukhrul Headquarter. Delegates are expected to arrive on April 28 and will depart on May 1. This year, the NSF Conference will be celebrated under the theme “Towards Harmony”.
Election for Executive Council and Assembly Executive of the NSF for the tenure 2021–2023 will be held on April 30 at 2:00 pm at the NSF Conference Hall, Ukhrul, Manipur, informed NSF Election Commission chairman K Elu Ndang.
He added that NSF Executive Council election for the post of president, vice-president, general secretary, assistant general secretary, secretary finance, secretary education, secretary social and culture, secretary publicity and information, secretary games and sports, editor, secretary women affairs (2) and Assembly Executive of speaker, deputy speaker, assembly secretary will be held on April 30.
In exercise of the powers and functions conferred under Article Twenty Six Clause (3) of Sub-Clause (c) part (i) of the Constitution of NSF, the Election Commission has announced the date, time and place for election to the Executive Council and Assembly Executive of the NSF for the tenure 2021 – 2023.
To ensure free and fair election and for smooth conduct of general election, the Election Commission has notified Model Code of Conduct (MCC) and issued directives and guidelines.
K Elu Ndang on April 15, 2021 issued a notification that the MCC shall be binding on all Intending candidates and federal units in toto.
1. Use of money, power, positions, alcohol, etc. to influence voters are strictly prohibited.
2. Criticism of other candidates or their supporters based on unverified information, fabricated news or distorted facts is strictly prohibited.
3. Provocative words/activities against other candidates are strictly prohibited.
4. Misuse of social media by sharing inappropriate images/audios/videos etc. of other candidates is a serious offence hence shall invite befitting penalty.
5. Use of loudspeakers during election campaigns is strictly prohibited.
6. Intimidation in any form is a serious offense hence shall invite befitting penalty.
7. Display of posters/photos of candidates or propaganda materials are strictly prohibited.
8. Setting up camps by candidates at the venue is strictly prohibited.
9. Campaigning by political party in favor of any candidate is strictly prohibited.
10. Campaigning during conference hour/session is strictly prohibited.
11. Election procession/Public meeting during Conference is strictly prohibited.
12. Cooperate with the officers on election duty to ensure peaceful and orderly polling.
13. Maintain silence during casting of votes.
14. Excepting the voters, no one without permission from the Election Commission shall enter the polling booths.
15. In case on any dispute relating to interpretation of Article Twenty-Six of the NSF Constitution, the decision of the Election Commission shall prevail and it shall be final and binding
16. For smooth conduct of election, the Election Commission may issue directives and guidelines from time to time. Noncompliance may invite penalty.
17. Violation of the above code of conduct may invite disqualification of his/her candidature.
“This Model Code of Conduct shall come into force with immediate effect from April 15, 2021” stated K Elu Ndang.
Local Organising Committee of TKS for the 29th NSF Conference 2021 have started the construction of stages, gates and other preparation in full swing.
