Erabot was speaking to media persons at his residence at Khurai Ahongei, Imphal for the first time after the Judgement came out. He has been taking a hiatus from the media and public life in general for the last couple of years.

O Henry, who had contested on an INC ticket in the 2017 Manipur general election, had defeated Erabot, who contested on a BJP ticket by 4336 votes. Erabot had filed an election petition alleging discrepancies in the affidavit filed by Henry.

The 2013 drug case, of which Henry is an accused, is still under investigation even after eight years, he observed and wondered when will the Judgement come out. As a general observation it taking very long, he added.

On the Lhukhosei Zou case, Erabot observed that news about the case are hardly reported in the newspaper. Although high court can be approached against the Judgement, the government has not gone for an appeal, added the veteran politician known for his bluntness.

Elated supporters of Erabot thronged his residence with smiles and laughter. He was garlended by the jubiliant supporters and workers.

Erabot had joined the BJP in the run-up to the 2017 general election. While Henry had joined BJP in August 2020 after he had resigned as an INC MLA.

With less than a year left to the 11th Manipur Legislative Assembly, the celebration might be short and move towards election mode for the next general election.
