National Socialist Council of Nagalim or the NSCN (I-M) on Saturday stated that the home-coming of a cadre belonging to Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) has been a “boost” to the morale of the former.
According to the press statement issued by NSCN (I-M), the cadre identified as “Lieutenant Ngamchui Phaomei” bearing Army No.ZA297, son of Kadimiang Phaomei, of Luangraeng village, Manipur, was an active member of ZUF.
The outfit claimed that Phaomei “finally realized the true color of ZUF, devoid of any political vision, was only a “smokescreen” that some leaders had created to fulfill their “scheme of things”. According to NSCN (I-M) Phaomei admitted that “ZUF was never a platform” for the cause of “anything genuine” or the Nagas leaving alone the cause of the Zeliangrongs.
He has also admitted that the purported movement of the ZUF was “devoid of any vision but simply a cruel hoax played upon by few ZUF leaders with vested interests exploiting the name of Zeliangrong”.
The NSCN (I-M) said the cadre has ridiculed the signing of the “Cessation of Operation” with the government of Manipur on December 27, 2022 and termed it as “sellout and a scam”.
Further, NSCN (I-M) expressed optimism that “better sense would eventually prevail upon the remaining 30 to 40 cadres who are still hoodwinked by the web of falsehood and absurdities in the hands of the deceitful ZUF leaders”.
Phaomei hoped that the people of Khoupum and its adjoining areas would eventually muster the courage to “disown” the “scamsters” under the banner Zeliangrong while making a “U-Turn” to work wholeheartedly towards the political cause of the Nagas. Later, accordingly, the ZUF cadre also extended his gratitude to the NSCN/GPRN for “warmly welcoming him into their folds”.
