The 56th edition of Raphei Katamnao Long (RKL) General Conference cum Sports, Cultural and Literary Meet 2022 kicstarted on Friday at Langdang. Under the theme “Education for Quality Life” the celebration will wind up on January 22, 2022. Organised by RKL, the 10 day long celebration is being hosted by Langdang Katamnao Long.

Under the theme “Education For Quality Life”, the 56th edition of Raphei Katamnao Long (RKL) General Conference cum Sports, Cultural and Literary Meet 2022 kicstarted on Friday at Langdang. A total of 25 federating units of RKL will be participating in the celebration that will wind up on Janauary 22, 2022.
MLA of 45-Chingai Assembly Constituency, Khashim Vashum was supposed to attend the opening ceremony as Chef Guest, but due to the enforcement of model code of conduct for the forthcoming Manipur State Legislative Assembly Election 2022 scheduled to be held on March 3, 2022, he could not attend the said programme. However, he had send his greetings to RKL. His message was read out by Yirei Shangrei to the congratulations. The message stated that “On this auspicious occassion, I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to all the Rapheinao present here, specially to the President and his team.for successfully organising the 56th General Conference cum Sports, Cultural and Literary Meet 2022 at Langdang. Though I could not be with you I person today, my Rapheian spirit is with you. I urge all of you to uphold the true spirit of sportsmanship and team spirit for the coming days.

Care Taker Chairman of ADC Ukhrul, Dr. Yaronsho Ngalung unveiled the monument of 56th RKL General Conference cum Sports, Cultural and Literary Meet 2022. Colourful cultural display of folk song and folk dance was presented by New Tusom Katamnao Long. The Langdang Katamnao Long escorted the dignitaries, with the women clad in traditional and vibrant Langdang Tuivila Kashan and men wearing Langdang Yarrą Sha Kachon.
Guests of honour of today, CMO of Ukhrul, Dr. Kapangring A Shimray and Project Officer of DRDA Ukhrul, Ngamreiwung Luithui also delivered short speeches. President of Tangkhul Naga Wungnao Long, Ramnganing SA, delivered the solidarity message.
In the opening football match played today, reigning champion Peh Katamnao Long defeated Chingai Katamnao Long by a score of 2-1. In the second match, Marem Katamnao Long defeated Phugcham Katamnao Mayar Ngala Long by a score of 5-0.
Competitive events including football, volleyball (men and women), folk song and folk dance, tug of war, top spin, quiz, debate, declamation, etc will be held during the general conference cum sports, cultural and literary meet of RKL 2022.
