While the suspected cadres of ZUF(J) managed to escape from the place, some arms and ammunition were recovered from the spot.

A combined team of New Keithelmanbi Police Station and 29 Assam Rifles recovered arms and ammunition from Nungjang Village, Kangpokpi district, while conducting an operation, police said Tuesday.
On Tuesday morning, based on inputs of the presence of some cadres of ZUF(J) in the general area of Nungjang village, a combined team of New Keithelmanbi PS led by ASI Seikholen Haokip and AR29 N. Khonou CoB personnel led by Major Amritraj conducted CI Ops, according to the police.
While the suspected cadres managed to escape from the place, some arms and ammunition were recovered from the spot including — two lethod bombs, one 9 mm pistol, one revolver, seven live rounds of M-16 and 11 live rounds of 9 mm.
An FIR has been registered for further investigation.
