The incident came to light when the younger sister of the minor victim child narrated the incident to their parents.

A 56-year-old man was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl at a village in Kamjong district, police said on Saturday. The arrested accused is identified as Antibus Ningshen (56) S/o (L) Muba Ningshen of Kamjong district.
According to Ukhrul police, the accused person allegedly entered into the room of the minor victim child while she along with her younger sister and cousin were sleeping on April 20, 2021 at around 11pm. Her parents were away from home and there was no elder at the time of incident. Taking advantage of the situation, the accused person allegedly raped her.
The accused then threatened the minor victim with dire consequences if she disclosed the incident to anyone. It came to light when the younger sister of the minor victim narrated the incident to their parents.
On receiving the report on May 5, 2021, a case under FIR No. 2(5)2021 Women PS/Ukl U/s 6 POCSO Act & 506 IPC was registered and the police swung into immediate action. The accused person was arrested from his house in the late evening of the same day of registration of the case.
He was produced before the CJM/Ukhrul and sent to police custody/remand till May 12, 2021.
