45 villages from Dhansiripar Dimapur to hold rally against joining Chumukedima district

The demand of the villages was to reconsider Nagaland Government’s earlier notification in resolving the issue pertaining to the bifurcation of Dimapur district before January 20.

Joint Coordination Committee of Villages (JCCV) comprising of 45 villages within Dhansiripar sub-dvision, Dimapur, Nagaland, has proposed for a rally on February 10 to voice its displeasure against merging the villages with the new created Chumukedima district.

The demand of the villages was to reconsider Nagaland Government’s earlier notification in resolving the issue pertaining to the bifurcation of Dimapur district before January 20.

Advisor and GB, JCCV, H Vikuto Swu, was of the opinion that the creation of the district was based on cited reasons that the commercial hub of Nagaland, Dimapur, and Peren districts, have issues on demarcation of boundaries.

He also went on to add that with the creation of Chumukedima as a district, the people would foresee a “problem” in the coming days.

Swu later said that the January 10 addressed to the government of Nagaland was to appeal to look into the matter but lamented that Nagaland government was yet to reply on this particular issue.

In this connection, the advisor and GB, JCCV, Vikuto Swu, said that the February 10 rally has been organized also keeping in mind with the voice raised by the minority tribes in the district.
