Uripok Apunba Lup (UAL) has decided to extend support to the Joint Action Committee (JAC) against the brutal killing of Athuan Abonmai and all the actions and protests to be organised by the JAC.
In a press release issued by the president of UAL Soram Tikendrajit Singh on Monday, the organisation said that UAL met the family members of the late Athuan Abonmai and the JAC members at Langol Tarung residence of the late leader. UAL expressed solidarity with them and also told those present that it will stand by the JAC and participate in all the actions to be taken up till the culprits behind the assassination were punished and justice delivered.
UAL also requested all the civil society organisations, clubs and meira lups to extend support so as to demonstrate that such brutal acts will not be tolerated in the future. It also appealed to all the community leaders not to indulge in politics that would hamper the peace and unity of all the ethnic communities in Manipur. UAL said the collective efforts of all the ethnic communities should be working towards a unified Manipur’s economic progress and self-reliance.
