The proscribed United National Liberation Front (UNLF) has denied any relation with Education (S) additional director RK Tenedy, who was reportedly arrested by Manipur police.
In a release issued by department of publicity director M Sak-hen, the outfit said that reports in some dailies on Friday about the arrest of Tenedy by Manipur Police CDO accusing him of having links with the outfit is not correct. The charges are wrongly leveled by the police, it added.
The Addl director of Education (S) was purportedly arrested on April 18 from near his home at Ghari Awang Leikai by Imphal West CDO as claimed by the police. The submission of the Investigating Officer (IO) to the court that Tenedy has been working under the Department of Finance of UNLF for more than 10 years, collecting funds for the outfit, is fabricated, it added.
The proscribed outfit also stated that Huidrom Manglemjao of Wangkhei Thangjam Leikai, who has been purportedly arrested by Manipur police does not have any links with UNLF.
