Naga solidarity walk culminates at Tahamzam

The 81-kilometre Naga solidarity walk that kicked-off from from Lerie Junction, Kohima, Nagaland culminated on Friday at Senapati district, Manipur.

After the culmination of walk, the participants called for an immediate peaceful resolution to the pending Naga political issue. A statement said there is a need for “a constitutional structure and timetable for recognition and implementation of the ‘People-hood of the Nagas’ in a self-determined governance system in an undivided ancestral homeland comprising all the Naga territories”.

Hundreds of Nagas took part in the walk with the theme – “One People, One Destiny”.

After a night halt in the Maram Naga area in Manipur on Thursday, the participants of the walk resumed their journey to reach Senapati in Manipur. A special function was organised at Tahamzam in Senapati district of Manipur to mark the culmination of the walk.
