While Thoubal police arrested an individual with illicit drugs from his home at Lilong Haoreibi Turel Ahanbi Darul Uloom Mathak and Imphal West police arrested two persons along with 527 bottles of DIC liquor.

Thoubal police arrested an alleged drug peddler along with illicit drugs from his home. A team of Lilong PS led by Insp Md Riaj Khan, OC/ LIlong PS and a team of CDO/ TBL led by Hav Md Kamal Hassan under the supervision of Thoubal SP Jogeschandra Haobijam search the house of one Makakmayum Nasir Khan a.k.a. Amu (34) yrs s/o Makakmayum Rashid Ahamed of Lilong Haoreibi Turel Ahanbi Darul Uloom Mathak. The search was conducted in the presence of a gazetted officer and members of MMWO and AMMDC as civil witnesses.
The police acted on specific information regarding selling illegal drugs to drug abusers by Makakmayum Nasir Khan at his house.
According to the police, Nasir was arrested at around 10.30 pm on Saturday with the seizure of — 175 SP Capsules, 137 WY Tablets, 14 N-10 Tablet and 47.8 grams suspected Heroin No 4 (including the weight of the container).
A regular case under FIR No 70 (07) 2021 LIL PS u/s 21(b)/22(a) ND&PS Act has been registered against the accused person for investigation.
Meanwhile, a team of CDO Imphal West led by jemadar Ayekpam Sadananda recovered 527 bottles of distilled indigenous country (DIC) liquor (half litre 399 bottles and one litre 128 bottles) from possession of Khagokpam Deepak Singh (27) S/o Kh Tomba Singh of Khurai Ningthoubung Leikai and Phuritsabam Ashakiran Singh (48) S/o Ph Manglemba Singh of Uripok Bachaspati Maning Leikai.
The detainees along with the seized items were handed over to the Excise Department, Lamphel.
