District Horticulture of Ukhrul has submitted spot inspection report to the Director, Horticulture and Soil Conservation, Manipur. The report stated that “after interaction with the villagers, the team conducted demonstration on the central of worm infestation on.the parkia tree. We found the trial was effective and successful. There are more than 10,000 parkia trees in the village.”

Following TFM’s report under the headline “Worms Attack Parkia Tress (Yongchak-Stink Bean) At New Tusom” on August 10, 2022, the Horticulture Department of Ukhrul has visited New Tusom village on Thursday to take stock of the situation.
On August 11, 2022, the officials of Horticulture Department Ukhrul visited New Tusom, Jessami Block, Ukhrul District, Manipur for spot inspection of infestation by worms on parkia tree. The team was led by District Officer Horticulture of Ukhrul, Y. Koireng, Horticulture Development Officers, W. Rangsan Koireng and Theimaya Kashung.

The team has request the Director, Horticulture and Soil Conservation, Maniour, for providing the following requirements as early as possible:
1. Battery Operated Knapsack Sprayer – 4 numbers
2. Rocker Sprayer – 10 numbers
3. Super Killer – 1000 pieces.
The villagers expressed gratitude to the visiting team and have appealed the concerned authority to extend all possible help to save the parkia trees which have been infected by worms.
