Tangkhul Shanao Long requested all appropriate authorities to investigate and take necessary action at the earliest.

Tangkhul Shanao Long has expressed dismay and said it was deeply disturbed by poll related violence in Ukhrul and Phungyar assembly constituencies during the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election. “Such violent incidents have no place in any society where respect for each other’s liberty and freedoms are paramount”, said Tangkhul Shanao Long.
Information from various sources shared in social media points to an alarming trend of the use of force and unfair means during this election process in different Tangkhul areas including attacks on polling officers at Kamphasom, and physical assaults in some places. Such heinous acts have no place in our community, and we strongly condemn anyone who has resorted to such acts, stated release.

At the same time, we appeal the concerned authorities to give all possible help such as medical treatment including mental health care of those affected. We appeal to the good conscience of one and all for peace and fair reasoning as well as holding ourselves accountable for our actions.”
