Sareng Club of Phungcham defeated Halang Youth Club in a thrilling match to claim the coveted title of 5th edition of Shimreishang Volleyball Championship that concluded on Monday at Phungcham village.

The 5th edition of Shimreishang Volleyball Championship that kickstarted on December 21, 2021 concluded on Monday. Organised by Shimreishang Club, Phungcham, a total of 12 teams from neighbouring villages participated in the said tournament.
The closing ceremony was attended by Yaruimung Zimik, Social Worker as chief guest and Yaruingam Hongchui, Entrepreneur as guest of honour. Speaking at the occasion, Yaruimung Zimik in his speech calls for unity among the brethren of the neighbouring villages. He stated that “as a player and as a team, one must maintain discipline to fare well in any competition. Discipline not only in the volleyball court but also in his lifestyle and way of life so that the youngsters could look up to him as an icon. Work as a team not only in the court but also in bringing changes in the community.” He also lauded the Organisor for taking up such initiative and expressed hope that through this tournament the neighbouring villages will foster better relationship and understanding.
Yaruingam Hongchui stretch on hard work and perseverance. He implored the gathering to never give up on their dreams and encourage to put their heart and soul so as to achieve their goal. He stated “with God and hard work everything is possible.”
The organisng committee expressed gratitude to all the participating teams for their sportsmanship and for making the 5th edition of Shimreishang Volleyball Championship a success.
