A Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal (RIMS) team has successfully conducted a brain tumour (parasagittal meningioma infiltrating superior sagittal sinus) on Saturday.
According to Dr Gojen, a Neurosurgeon of RIMS, the operation was successfully conducted on a patient suffering from a case of middle third left parasagittal meningioma infiltrating superior sagittal sinus taking nearly 14 hours of surgery.
Most of the latest gadgets of Neurosurgery like CUSA, microscope, bipolar cautery, head frame with pins, brain retractors were used.
Dr Gojen also expressed gratitude to “all dedicated team of anaesthesia, sisters, technicians, MPW and those who were involved. Special thanks to the RIMS authority for procurement of the latest Neurosurgery equipment”.
This new Digital Augmented Reality Operating Neurosurgey Microscope is one of latest from Leica, he added.
