The People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) on Monday launched the election campaign for the lone seat to the 18th Lok Sabha at Chumoukedima. The Lok Sabha poll for Nagaland’s lone seat is scheduled for April 19.

Speaking at the campaign launching programme, Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio said that despite having many agendas, policies, and commitments, what brought them together was their commitment towards the Naga people in resolving the protracted Naga political issue as desired and voiced by the people and for which the PDA is committed to.

Stating that for the ensuing Lok Sabha election, the 60 MLAs along with almost all the political parties of the state have decided to extend their unflinching support to the PDA’s consensus candidate Dr Chumben Murry, Rio said it shows that unity amongst would build a platform to resolve any issues including that of the ENPO and others.

BJP national spokesperson and in-charge of Nagaland Nalin Kohli addressing the campaign launching programme confidently shared that the PDA’s consensus candidate to the 18th Lok Sabha election would win with a huge margin as according to him all the political parties and the people of Nagaland are together and for which he appealed to all to win the lone seat with a “historic margin”.

PDA’s consensus candidate for the lone Lok Sabha seat, Dr Chumben Murry, in his address said that if he is elected or given a chance to be the voice of the Naga people in the Lok Sabha, he would also carry the voice of the 60 legislators of Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA), and the Nagas in general.

Meanwhile, other political parties have also expressed their support to Dr Chumben Murry.

Nagaland deputy chief minister Y Patton, and other PDA leaders also spoke at the programme.
