NSCN (I-M) leaders camping in Delhi; Rio says he will step down if Naga political issue finds solution

A highly placed source from the NSCN (I-M) informed that the “Delhi talks” have been on with “exchanges of words from both the sides because of the over indulgence of tactics by the government of India”.

Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio on Thursday said that all 60 members of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly including him would step down as soon as a solution is found to the vexed Naga political issue. Rio also stated that negotiations to the protracted Naga political issue are going on and everyone is eagerly awaiting for an outcome.

Meanwhile, a highly placed source from the NSCN (I-M) informed this correspondent that the “Delhi talks” have been on with “exchanges of words from both the sides because of the over indulgence of tactics by the government of India”.
While informing that another talk would be held on Friday (November 18), the NSCN (I-M) source said that a “development” is expected soon for much long pending Naga political problems.

The source also informed that Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, on Thursday has said that all the 60 members of the Nagaland State Legislative Assembly are prepared to resign as and when a solution is found to the decades long political issue.
While stating that an alternative arrangement would be made for an interim period if a “solution is reached”, Rio also said that his government is expecting a solution soon, particularly when the Naga leadership including the NSCN (I-M) top brass are camping in Delhi, and are awaiting to meet the central leadership including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
