Amid speculations that the Nagaland government would be lifting of the Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition (NLTP) Act, 1989, in the next Assembly session, Advisor of Excise department, Zhaleo Rio, on Thursday said that the state government was yet to take any decision on the issue.

Zhaleo was speaking as a special invitee at a consultative meeting of the committee to review issues tied to the implementation of the Act with various stakeholders in Kohima. Zhaleo added that while the excise department has been tirelessly working on implementing the NLTP Act, 1989, there has not been a satisfactory outcome and the end goal remained unrealized.
