Hundreds of beneficiaries of PM Kisan are not getting this year 2021 installments despite the announcement and release of funds to PM Kisan by Prime Minister Modi two times.

PM Kisan is a Central Sector scheme with 100% funding from the government of India. It became operational from December 1, 2018. The 8th Installment was released in May and the 9th Installment was released in August this year. However, many farmers from Kamjong and Ukhrul Districts are yet to receive their money.

Some beneficiaries in Kamjong and Ukhrul districts have received up to second installment and some have received upto fourth installment, whereas PM Modi has released the ninth installment of the financial benefit of PM-Kisan Yojna on August 9 this year.

There are reports of many farmers from Kamjong district, approaching the Common Service Centers (CSCs) at Kamjong Headquarters which have been tasked to do the registration process for the PM-Kisan Yojna because they have not received their installments.

PM-Kisan Yojna is a central government scheme launched by the Narendra Modi-led government in 2018 to help the farmers of the country. Under the scheme an income support of 6,000/- per year in three equal installments will be provided to small and marginal farmer families having combined land holding/ownership of upto 2 hectares. The fund is directly transferred to the bank accounts of the farmers in three equal installments each year.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the ninth installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) on August 9, 2021. According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, more than 9.75 crore beneficiary farmer families will receive the transfer amount of more than Rs 19,500 crore in their bank accounts. However, on checking the status, Shangshawung Huileng of Halang village, Ukhrul District has not received the money in his account. He said that he had received only till the fourth installment. When he checked the portal (PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi) he discovered “record not found” against his name. There are many farmers who are facing the same situation.Meanwhile, there is little CSC can do since the beneficiaries are approaching them with little or no information. There is an urgent need to find out where it went wrong. Why are the beneficiaries not getting their due shares?
