Manipur COVID-19: 700 fresh cases reported in last one week, active cases surge 171.96 per cent

Manipur continues to report fresh cases above 100 for the third day in a row.

In the last one week, Manipur reported 700 new cases with nine deaths. While active cases surged from 296 to 805, a 171.96 per cent jump. 

Meanwhile, Manipur continues to report fresh cases above 100 for the third day in a row as 104 new cases were reported on Sunday with two deaths. 

The active cases have now surged to 805, according to COVID-19 Common Control Room. 

The new positive cases from the general population in the last 24 hours are from Imphal West (59), Imphal East (44), Bishnupur (8), Churachandpur (5), Ukhrul (5), Thoubal (4), Senapati (3), Chandel (1), Kakching (1), Kangpokpi (1), and Tengnoupal (1). 

In the last 24 hours, two persons aged 51 years (male, Imphal West) and 59 years (male, Imphal West) expired at Raj Medicity and RIMS Hospital respectively. With this 385 lives have been claimed by the deadly virus in the state so far, according to the Health Department. 

Air passengers who travelled to the state on (i) April 20, 2021 by Indigo Flight 6E-6358 in rows 18-24 (ii) April 22, 2021 by Indigo Flight 6E-6181 in rows 2-10, Air India Flight Al 889 in rows 12-18 have been advised to inform the Common Covid Control Room 18003453818 or respective District Surveillance Officers (DSO) immediately.

So far 1,29,099 individuals have been vaccinated in the state as per the latest information.

Meanwhile, India reported 3,49,691 cases on Sunday with 2,767 deaths, according to the Union Health Ministry. There are 26,82,751 active cases in the country. So far 14,09,16,417 individuals have been vaccinated. 

A total of 1,69,60,17 cases have been reported and the death toll stands at 1,92,311.
