Manipur: 11 more succumb to COVID-19, 644 new cases reported

Active cases have surged to 6,904. Out of these, 4,413 active cases are in home isolation.

Manipur reported 11 more deaths on Thursday with 644 fresh cases. The state positivity stands at 20.69 percent.

Of 11 deaths, seven were from Imphal West, three from Imphal East and one from Churachandpur. They died at Babina (1), Shija Hospital (1), DH Churachandpur (1), RIMS (5) and JNIMS (3) hospital, according to the Health Department. 

304 fresh cases were detected from Imphal West, 191 from Imphal East, 36 from Thoubal, 33 from Bishnupur, 29 from Kakching, 27 from Churachandpur, six from Ukhrul, five each from Chandel, Kangpokpi and Noney, and three from Tengnoupal. 

546 persons from — CAPF (2), Home Isolation (410), RIMS (3), RD Wing (16), BB (17), LANVA (5), NSU (16), SHRI (16), Babina Speciality Hospital (2), Jivan Hospital (8), Thoubal (11), Bishnupur (7), Kakching (9), Ukhrul (9), Churachandpur (5), Kangpokpi (1), Tamenglong (2), Tengnoupal (3), Phungyar (2) and Kasom Khullen (2), were discharged in the last 24 hours ending 5 pm Thursday. The recovery rate stands at 81.98 percent. 

As per the Health Department, in the last 24 hours, a total of 1367 D type Oxygen cylinders and 571 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur.

Air passengers who traveled to the state on (ii) May 19, 2021 by Air India AI-889 in rows 15-21 have been instructed to inform the Common Covid Control Room 1800-345-3818 or respective District Surveillance Officers (DSO) for further surveillance and necessary testing.

The total infection of the state has reached 41,909 and 646 total deaths.
