Little act of generosity during this pandemic could save thousand lives: Thangminlen Kipgen

Former Minister and the present state executive member of BJP Manipur Pradesh Thangminlen Kipgen on Wednesday exhorted the people of Manipur not to hesitate to help people during this unprecedented health crisis.

However, he cautioned that any act of generosity should be done following strict COVID appropriate behavior and purely on the humanitarian ground without any individual interest or motive of benefit.

The former Minister was speaking during the distribution function of D10 LPM Oxygen Concentrator donated by NLC India Limited formerly known as Neyveli Lignite Cooperation Limited, Chennai, Tamilnadu at CMO’s office Kangpokpi District today.

“As little drop of water makes the mighty ocean, our little act of generosity during this health crisis could save a thousand lives”, asserted the veteran politician while exhorting all like-minded citizens of the state to embark on humanitarian act through the proper channel.

Narrating about the donation of oxygen concentrators on the part of NLC India Limited, Thangminlen Kipgen said, “With my friend Ajang Khongsai, state Spokesperson BJP Manipur Pradesh, I had discussed the prevailing health crisis in the state and considering inevitable to help our people in our capacity and wrote to the NCL India Limited for the assistance.”

He continued that their motive has no intention of political interest at all, it is purely based on humanitarian interest and this unprecedented health crisis is not a time to work for party or individual political mileage.

He further said that they have spent nothing, even not a single rupee in obtaining the oxygen concentrators, the NLC India Limited not only donated the material but even dispatched it at their expense at the district hospital from Chennai while adding that I have written only to them for the assistance.

The veteran politician said. “The state government is doing its best for the people but we could not solely depend on the Government and God, we need to do our part as a responsible citizen, so we are also doing our bit to help the government in the fight against the dreaded COVID-19.”

While handing over the oxygen concentrators, Thangminlen Kipgen conveyed his anticipation that the doctors and nurses, and other health workers will be morally boosted with the availability of more oxygen concentrators for COVID patients.

Stressing on the vital role of the health workers, the former Minister motivated the health workers saying that we might not be able to help you to your satisfaction but we will always back you and stand with you in our capacity.

He also urged the people of Kangpokpi to extend all possible cooperation and assistance to the frontline workers and never hesitate to help one another during this unprecedented health crisis.

Thangminlen Kipgen also conveyed heartfelt gratitude to NLC India Limited for providing the oxygen concentrators and appreciated its commitment and dedication towards humanity at this critical juncture.

Meanwhile, Ajang Khongsai, state Spokesperson BJP Manipur Pradesh said that it’s the question of how to save human lives during this pandemic that makes us embarked on such a noble act because we are more concerned on saving humankind than anything else during this unprecedented time.

It’s time we must put our heads together and embark on various activities in our capacity to save human lives as well as in the fight against the dreaded COVID pandemic to overcome someday.

Chief Medical Officer, Kangpokpi Dr. J. Touthang expressed sincere and heartfelt gratitude to NLC India Limited for the oxygen concentrators which could save many lives during this pandemic and also conveyed profound gratitude to the state executive BJP Manipur Pradesh and state spokesperson BJP Manipur Pradesh for their noble thought and concerned over the health care system and infrastructure in the district saying that people of Kangpokpi are very fortunate to have such humble and responsible leaders in the district.

The distribution function was also attended by the Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Kangpokpi, Senior MOs, MOs of various health centers in the district, etc.
