Leishangthem Lamyanba Meetei has been appointed as the president of the Democratic Students’ Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) for the term 2022-2024.
The new office bearers were appointed during the 11th General Conference of the student body held on Friday at KP College, Hiyangthang. The outgoing president Nameirakpam Edison was the chairman of the conference.
The other office bearers include — Longiam Robin as vice president, Mayengbam Somorjit Luwang as secretary general, Nongthombam Thoithoiba as assistant secretary general, Romesh Khumancha as secretary organisation and coordination, Ningthoujam Rishikanta as secretary ethnic and regional affairs, Thounaojam Somal Luwang as secretary education and academic affairs, Sandham Omix Khumancha as secretary finance and account, Oinam Surjakanta as secretary health and environment, Thoudam Shyamjai as secretary publicity and propaganda, Shamurallatpam Rishikumar as secretary social welfare, Sanoujam Nikita as secretary cultural affairs, Huldrom Johnson as secretary games and sports, Thongratabam Mani as auditor general, Leishungham Rajesh secretary anti drug and abuse, Ningthoujam Rajesh as secretary office, and three central executive members — Thingom Kenilworth, Laishram Jesmine, and Khundongbum Bonny.
